DC is doing some cutting down. Supposedly, according to BC. But it sounds believable enough, given their situation regarding ATT. Really DC is still just an intellectual property holding company for other, more profitable media. All they really have to do is keep their copyrights current and make TV and movies. I think more of their energy and money will go into their streaming service, (they're probably still going with CW, but I don't think too many more new DC shows will appear there). And Aquaman has showed them that they can make a decent profitable movie, as well as WW and likely Shazam and Wonder Woman 2, so they're probably going to commit to more than just movies about Margot Robbie's butt. Hard to say which character will get the next movie. Captain Marvel...er, Shazam, was a no-brainer, but after that, it gets a bit more iffy. There's the rumored Supergirl movie, which is a very stupid move IMO, considering how she's been defined in the TV show, and that a SG movie at this point might be over exposure for the character---fans who might have gone to see it in the absence of the show, might be feeling a bit burned out. I certainly am. Those Joker movies probably will tank big time; nobody cares much about the Joker without Batman, and I don't see a huge clamor to know his origin story. Cyborg is almost certainly DOA now, and the Flash probably so. DC has a lot of character that they COULD make a good movie with, but I just don't seem them using those characters or teams. |

Too bad. Mister Miracle is great! I finally picked up the Mister Miracle trade. I have only had a chance to read the first issue so far but it is great. It really is great. Can't wait to see where this goes! |

Here's something you'd probably never thought to hear from me----a Power Girl question. I know she debuted a couple of months ahead of Star Wars in 1977, and is a younger character than Carol Danvers, but it seems to me that she shares many similarities not only with Supergirl, who she is a direct copy of, but also Carol. The powerful female hero who has been at times at least rather hot headed and prone to leap before looking...and then there's the cat. I'm not suggesting that PG was a direct copy of Carol Danvers, but I am curious as to which came first, Carol's car or PG's cat? Was PG's kitty in response to the other one? Was he just another SG deal meant as an answer to Streaky? Or was he a truly independent creation? He's certainly not an inferior creation to either kitty, as he has a charm all his own, but I'm curious as to how that worked.

So the first Tec arc ended. On one hand, the entire story was a simulation Bruce puts himself thru every year to hone himself. So all those deaths the previous issues. Everything was mute. On one hand, I'm grateful but on the other. It feels so cheap and I swear this was done before and it was a waste of Hugo Strange being in this arc.

Hugo Strange is a horribly underutilized character. He was created to be Batman's Moriarty, and after a strong start he just got left in the dust. Shame, because he is such a strong character.

It doesn't look like they even both trying to keep a schedule anymore. So many postponed titles. Since I don't get that many DC comics anymore, can I ask those who do, have Power Girl or the missing JSAers made any inside the comic appearances recently? Meaning have they come back yet? |
