I know the thread is about the "little movies you love" but Capricorn One? I had a hankering to watch that again with "The Final Countdown" as I hadn't seen either of them in decades. Both are extremely dated, but Cap1 was just bloody awful. I have no idea why (I thought) I liked in the first place. Pure garbage. Conversely, Final Countdown still holds up as an enjoyable film. I liked Cap One largely because of Kojak and his chase scene, plus the ending where Brolin shows up for his own funeral much to the dismay of Hal Holbrook. I liked Countdown...but it was a bit frustrating what with them never explaining the storm, or why it choose to come back. The F-15s vs the Zeroes was fun though. But it would have been interesting to see a complete alternate history is the Nimitz, maybe along with another carrier group, had fought out the war. Part of the reason Cap One was a bit...disconcerting, was the inclusion of OJ. Or course then, no one knew that he was a double murderer... I don't think it was OJ and I've always enjoyed Brolin and Waterson, so it wasn't the acting - it was a great plot with a stupid script.

Is that Logan's Run? Also, Silent Running---1972 Bruce Dern, a sci-fi flick. I think they reused the spaceships for Battlestar Galactica. Also, the two best thrillers ever made, Day Of The Jackal, (the original version starring Edward Fox---who also starred in Force Ten From Navarone with Harrison Ford and Robert Shaw, and A Bridge Too Far, in which he costarred with practically everyone, from Gene Hackman, Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Robert Redford, Elliot Gould, James Caan, Anthony Hopkins, John Ratzenberger, Denholm Elliot, and Laurence Olivier, among others. And was directed by Richard Attenborough, John Hammond from Jurassic Park. The other best thriller was Three Days of the Condor, starring Robert Redford, Faye Dunaway, Cliff Robertson, and Max Von Sydow

As a kid I loved Logan's Run so much that I did a book report on it (based 100% on the comic because I never read the book - I even traced the Perez cover claiming it as my own).
My plan would have worked except for the fact that my teacher read the book and on his notes he told me his name is Logan 3 (not 5) but he liked 'my' drawing enough he gave me a C instead of F AND a copy of the book (which I read 5 times that year).

My favorite "not blockbuster" sci-fi movie. . . The Last Starfighter:
Fun movie, good effects for the time and most of all; Robert Preston stealing every scene that he's in.

Never saw Hanover Street. How about The Conversation, starring Gene Hackman and featuring a pre Star Wars Harrison Ford? Or The Big Red One, with Lee Marvin and Mark Hamill?

Night of the Comet. Nice little zombie movie with the guy from Star Trek Voyager and more importantly Catherine Mary Stewart.
